Whether you realize it or not, if you work with horses for a living, you’re an Equestrian Professional. Sounds fancy, doesn’t it? Admittedly, it’s hard to consider oneself a “professional” when a lot of what we do includes moving poop from one place to another on a daily basis. But, manure management aside, if you want to make horses your livelihood, you need to plan your business around some very important principles that will help ensure that you are profitable and that your business model is sustainable. This webinar will introduce you to the key components of a Business Plan, and what goes into planning your business, whether you are just starting out, or already an old pro looking to grow or pivot your existing business.
About Helena Harris:
Helena is the principal and founder of Sparkle and Boom Marketing & Communications, home of the popular Stall and Stable podcast, of which she is the executive producer and host. She’s been involved with horses for the better part of 25 years. As a marketing professional in the equine industry, Helena spent eight years with Bit of Britain, 10 with the Horse Radio Network (which she helped found in 2008), and provided marketing services for countless horse businesses throughout the United States.
Prior to her work in the equine industry, Helena was a product development and marketing manager for large IT companies in both New York and Boston. Under the Stall and Stable brand, she now combines her corporate expertise with barn management best practices to offer consulting services that help equestrian business owners operate better, safer, and more profitable farms.
A small horse property on the New England coast is where Helena calls home. There she lives with her husband, teenage daughter, and a couple of punk cats. She has a 20 year-old Appaloosa gelding whom she hunts, and a young OTTB mare who is showing her the real meaning of horsemanship through humility. You can join her in the conversation about happy horsekeeping on the Stall and Stable show, which airs a new episode every two weeks on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio, HRN, or wherever you get your podcasts.
